This vision reimagines Market Square for Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Donegal County Council.

We see our proposal as an opportunity to instil a vibrant urban centre for Letterkenny in the heart of the town. The reimagined square comprises a series of usable platforms to navigate the sloping site incorporating a large meeting square at Main Street level, an upper square and a ‘city roof garden’ – across these three levels, people will freely gather, walk, talk, trade, celebrate, dine and enjoy – it’s now a ‘Space for People’. The new Market Square is alive – it has vital public convenience facilities such as public toilets and an Information Hub at the lower level. This space is also complimented by a coffee dock to add ebullience and soul. A successful square needs pedestrian traffic and destinations – therefore, desire lines across the square have informed its shape and positioning of its key components.
